Iran 1st Olympic caravan to go to China

The Iranian squad will be the country's first sports caravan to leave the Iranian capital, Tehran, for the 2008 Olympic Games on Saturday evening.

The Iranian side will compete with Angola, Argentina, China, Australia and the US in the intercontinental event prior to the Olympic Games.

Iran is also preparing for games against Argentina, Lithuania, Russia and Australia in Group A of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, which will be held August 8-24.

Group B consists of the United States, Angola, host China, Spain, Germany and Greece.

The Iranian outfit is scheduled to face Russia in its first match on August 10.
