IranSportsPress.com - Whenever you're ill, you go and see a doctor. Iran's chances for the World Cup are almost dead and we need a doctor, so we should finally give the Doctor the chance to take over and try to put us out of ICU.
I'm talking about Dr. Bijan Zolfagharnasab, the one Iranian coach that hasn't been mentioned yet but who has a record of qualifying with Iran in a similar situation back in 98, when the odds were against us, or at least being part of the coaching team. So why not bring him back and give him a try for the upcoming 3 games? Nobody can deny that Zolfagharnasab has experience. He has been coaching for over 20 years now. Further, he is a well-educated, well-mannered guy nobody has trouble with. You might not like the way his team plays football, but he is one of few coaches in Iranian football always practicing a working 4 men defense and being organized as a team. He also famously took Ghalenoie to school on tactics after the Asian Cup exit, he has no baggage with current players and I haven't heard of anyone in Iran saying a bad word about him. IFF doesn't like him? Well, right now it's not the time for old grudges. It's about 3 games and although I'm a big fan of Ghotbi as a coach, Dr. Zolfagharnasab has maybe the edge over all the candidates we're thinking of, even him. So let's go ahead, ask Kafashian, Ahmadinejad, whoever to appoint Dr.Zolfagharnasab as coach and give him the chance that is overdue, as time and time again he has been overlooked. Let's be frank, Marcelo Bielsa and Capello won't leave Chile and England to coach us and Troussier hasn't coached a team in ages and doesn't know our players and he won't take over for 3 games. Hence, let's go for Zolfagharnasab.
I guess no one else will ask for him but he is just the one person that makes most sense right now. Go see the Doctor!
