Daei goes Parvin's way

IranSportsPress.com - The career as National Team coach of another Iranian legend ended also after a game against Saudi Arabia.

The two greatest Iranian players-turned-managers in history suffered the same fate during their reign as National Team headcoach. Daei and Parvin have probably nothing in common except for their names and club, both are legendary Iranian players who did a lot for Iranian football, both under difficult circumstances took over the National Team and both got the axe after a defeat to Saudi Arabia. While Parvin's last game was in charge against one of the strongest Saudi Arabian teams in history in an epic game in Doha, Daei's last game was against an injury and problems plagued side in Teheran.
Parvin's career as a coach and manager would never be the same after that defeat, eventhough he went on to win several league titles with Perspolis. What happens with Daei's career in future remains to be seen. But the irony of both legends having the same fate is striking.
