TEHRAN- Tehran's Esteghlal has defeated Abumoslem of Khorasan 2-0 in its opening game of the Iran Professional league (IPL) on Tuesday.

The blues beat Abumoslem 2-0 in front of more than 30,000 spectators at Tehran's Azadi Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Mojtaba Jabbari scored the opener for Esteqlal in the 57th minute and Mehdi Amirabadi doubled the score nine minutes later.
Jabbari replaced Omid-Reza Ravankhah who left the pitch in the 17th minute due to an injury.
Esteqlal, coached by Amir Qalenoei, currently stands at the top of the league table because of the goal difference.
The 8th Iranian Premier League kicked off on Monday.
