"I am sure that Saipa will be successful in the AFC Champions League and in the new local league season as well,” Kaebi told Iranian news agency ISNA.
The 22-year-old defender, who had a spell in England with Leicester City prior to returning to Perspolis in 2007, and Aghayee are not the only new additions to Saipa, with the Karaj-based outfit also enlisting national team goalkeeper Ebrahim Mirzapour and promising 20-year-old striker Mohammad Parvin, son of the legendary Iran and Perspolis striker Ali Parvin.
“Fortunately, new players will strengthen the team (Saipa) and hopefully secure our success in the future", Kaebi continued.
Meanwhile, Saipa are reportedly in talks with former Bahrain coach Wolfgang Sidka as the ACL quarter-finalists continue to seek out a replacement for their 2006/07 Iran Pro League-winning coach Ali Daei, who stepped down to take over the managerial reigns of the Iran national team. |
