Mohammad Reza Saket is he a chairman or a bully?

(IranSportsPress.com): Mohammad Reza Saket is the chairman of one of the most successful football clubs in Iran, or is that what we think he is?

Sepahan has been the main focus of Iranian soccer in the past three seasons, two Hazfi Cup trophies, and three consecutive Asian Champions League campaigns along side a historical World Club Championship campaign in Tokyo.

They are currently ranked Asia's top club, and there is one man to thank for this progress, its Mr Saket the chairman of Foolad Mobarake Sepahan.

He is always present at the stadium to watch Sepahan, even travels to UAE to watch Sepahan's handball team in the Asian Club tournament; he is also seen enjoying Sepahan Novin in the Azadegan league. Sounds like a dedicated chairman, yet what’s happening behind the curtains?

Mohammad Reza Saket might appear like a bully, after Sepahan Novin's recent promotion to the IPL, there was ongoing news that Traktor Sazi Tabriz, Foolad Khozestan, as well as Steel Azin were prepared to pay big sums for the rights of Sepahan Novin in the IPL. Mr Saket on the other hand denied any possibility of the sale of Novin, saying he will support them in IPL and that they will stay put.

News followed that Mr Mohammad Reza Keshavarzian had agreed to sell Sepahan Novin to a private owned company Chika in Isfahan, worth 4.9 Billion Toman to be exact. And the team was to be renamed to Chika Isfahan, everything was nearly done. But, Chairman Mr Saket and Vice President Masoud Tabesh quickly denied such news, it was soon confirmed that Sepahan Novin's rights were sold to Foolad Khozestan for a staggering 15 million US, and Sepahan Novin would return to Azadegan League.

But for people and media this looked like a deal made by a business man, a marketing move, Saket had just made an easy 15 million. But there was more to come, Saket had other ideas in mind, he had demanded players from Foolad to join Sepahan, Brazilian Janvario was soon released by Foolad, one of their best players in the past two seasons. Not long after his departure from Foolad, there was news that he is on the verge of signing with Sepahan, only the fact that Saket had promised Foolad to compensate Janvario with midfielder Zadmahmoud to Ahvaz, a compensation Foolad were not in a position to turn down.

Foolad had been bullied into letting go of one of their star player's, a hefty price Foolad had so far paid for a return to the IPL. Not only that, Saket had promised to introduce Werner Lorant & Jamal Haji both coaches with close ties to Sepahan in the past to Foolad if they agreed on such a deal.

After all, Steel Azin & Traktor Sazi were waiting in line for Sepahan Novin's rights and were ready to pay up. Mohammad Reza Saket & Masoud Rezaeian had finally agreed and Foolad were back in IPL.

A hardworking and young Sepahan Novin side had fought hard and fair to reach the IPL, head coach Hossein Charkhabi said that 400 Million Toman was all that he had spent on a squad that managed to beat a Steel Azin who had spent somewhere closer to 7-8 billion Toman on a brand new team.

Though Sepahan Novin were so easily sent back to Azadegan League for 15 million & a Brazilian midfielder, a deal that worked out for Sepahan, or maybe Saket, after all they had just became 15 million dollars richer, money that most probably could finance the future signings of Mojtaba Jabbari and Hossein Kaebi and many new player's.

Foolad however has been left hurt and wounded by Mohammad Reza Saket the bully.
