Aliabadi named Olympic committee head

He won 56 out of 66 votes in the NOC's general assembly on Tuesday to take the post for four years. Aliabadi, who is also head of Iran's Physical Education Organization, replaced Reza Qarakhanloo.

Mehdi Qadami and Mahmoud Khosravi were appointed as Aliabadi's deputies while Bahram Afsharzadeh was named the NOC's secretary-general.

The head of Iran's Football Federation Ali Kaffashian was appointed as a member of the NOC's executive committee.
