Iran bags silver in javelin throw

Abdolreza Jokar has earned the silver in the men's javelin throw to become the fifth Iranian medalist at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games.

Jokar came second in the F53/54 class with 1108 points on Friday.

Finland Javelin thrower won the gold with 1112 points and Mexican athlete took the bronze when he finished with 1037 points.

On Tuesday, another Iranian Javad Hardani claimed the bronze medal in the F38 class javelin of the event.

The Iranian Paralympic delegation has so far snatched one gold, three silver and one bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games.

Over 4 000 athletes from 150 countries are participating in the 13th Paralympic Games from September 6th to the 17th in Beijing.
