Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler Saman Tahmasbi has defeated his opponent from Ukraine at the 2008 Olympic Games held in Beijing.

The Iranian athlete beat Ukraine's Oleksandr Daragan in his first encounter in the 84 kg category on Thursday.
Tahmasbi won the first round 4-0 but was defeated 2-1 by the Ukrainian in the second round. He finally managed to beat his rival 3-0 in the third round.
The Iranian will meet Turkish wrestler Nazmi Avluca in his next encounter.
A total of 84 Greco-Roman wrestlers have participated in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
