This was the second warm-game for Ali Daei’s charges before they take on the ‘sons of the desert’ away on September 6. Earlier, Iran held Czech Premiership side Bohemians Prague on Wednesday.
Jaroslav Cherny scored the all-important goal for Slavia Prague two minutes from half time.
Iran’s preparations for the World Cup qualifiers were thrown into disarray following cancellations of their friendly matches.
All the three scheduled matches during a recent training camp in Spain were called off while African champions Egypt also cancelled the planned friendly game.
Iran are scheduled to play Central Asian giants Uzbekistan at home on August 20.
