Rahman Rezaei joins UAE's al-Dhafra

Serie A defender Rahman Rezaei from Iran has signed a contract with the UAE's al-Dhafra officials to join the club for one season.

The 33-year-old Iranian national inked the deal on Tuesday.

Rezaei played seven seasons in Italian clubs including Perugia, Messina and Livorno.

Two other Iranian players, Rasoul Khatibi and Mehdi Rajabzadeh, had already signed contracts with al-Dhafra.

Rezaei refused to join Tehran's popular teams, Esteqlal and Persepolis, due to financial issues.
