-Iran line-up Ghana and Jamaica Friendlies:
Iran Football Federation deputy confirmed Ghana and Jamaica Friendly fixtures for Iranian team’s Asian Cup tune-up. Mahdi Moohamadnabi said: “To further prepare Iran team for Asian Cup challenge,we confirmed the Friendly fixture against Ghana on Thursday, June 28 and also Jamaica Friendly on July 2 and leave for Asian Cup Tournament with full strength.”
Both games are set to be played at 19:00 Tehran time in Azadi stadium. According to the agreements, both teams are set to come with their full squad.
-Rasoul Khatibi cleared of injury fears:
Iran’s medical team confirmed the presence of Rasoul Khatibi in Asian Cup, after several medical tests indicate Rasoul Khatibi is 80% recovered from injury.
-Mohamad Nosrati may be ruled out of Asian Cup:
Mohamad Nosrati, Iranian team’s defender, may follow the footsteps of injured Nikbakht Vahedi, after his slow injury recovery may rule him out of Asian Cup Tournament all together.
Iran’s team medical doctor stated: “Norati’s condition is not satisfactory.There is a high chance that he cannot get recovered from surgery fast enough for Asian Cup. We try our best so he can play in Asian Cup but it is a very difficult situation.”
-Ali Karimi to leave for Qatar for club negotiations:
Ali Karimi is set to finalize his club offers before Asian Cup Kick-off and will leave for Qatar end of June. Ali Karimi intends to choose his next club before Asian Cup,in case of injury ruining his Asian Cup Tournament.
Qatar’s Al Gharafa and Al Qatar are both keen to seal the deal with former Bayern Munich midfielder.
-Arash Borhani in negotiation with UAE and Belgian clubs:
Arash Borhani, having received several offers from UAE and Belgian clubs, has left for UAE for negotiations. Borhani is out of contract with former Pas club that is now licensed under “Shahid Alvand Hamedan”.
One of the UAE clubs interested in Borhani’s service is reported to be “Al Ain” as well as Belgian First Division team, Mouscron. Arash Borhani also has offers from Perspolis and Esteghlal but he has yet to decide on his club for next season.
-Mirzapour joins Ali Parvin’s new team:
Iran National team’s out of favour goalkeeper,Ebrahim Mirzapour, sealed a deal with newly created team,Estil Azin, owned by Ali Parvin. Ali Parvin recently appointed former Esteghlal trainer, Theo de Jong, as head coach of Estil Azin with Mahmood Khordbin, former Perspolis board member, as team Manager.
-Ali Daei take charge of Iran Student team:
In an appointment by Bahram Ghadimi, head of Physical Education of Azad University,Ali Daei is the new head coach of Iran Student team competing for 2007 World Schools’ Championship in Thailand. Iran is grouped with Brazil, Italy and Ukrain.
-Habib Kashani voted as Perspolis’s Managing director:
Habib Kashani, member of Perspolis management board and former Tehran City Councilor, was voted as Perspolis’s Managing Director.
Habib Kashani’s appointment raises controversy over his election, as Perspolis board of management voting session consisted only 3 board members voting for Habib Kashani, in absence of majority of board members such as former director, Ansarifard, head of management board,Ali Saeedlou,and Perspolis club owner, Ali Abadi.
Habib Kashani, was recently added to Perspolis board of management by Ali Abadi, head of Physical Education. Habib Kashani is succeeding Mohamad Ansarifard, who resigned from his position last week.
Habib Kashani is reported to favour Firouz Karimi and Hamid Estili for Perspolis Coaching position next season.
