Iran Claims 4 Freestyle golds on Final Day, Wins Team Title at Cadet Asian C’ships

(IranSportsPress.com-UnitedWorldWrestling)- Winning four gold medals on last day of Cadet Asian Championships, Iran grabbed the freestyle team title at the Bangkok Youth Center of Thailand. India came second, while Kazakhstan placed third.

Seyed Erfan JAFARIAN secured the gold medal at 46kg with an impressive performance against Yelaman KADYRSEIT (KAZ), winning by 10-0 technical fall in the final match.

After winning two matches by technical fall against Mongolia and Korea wrestlers, Mehdi ESHGHI (IRI) beat Karoolbecov SHAILOOLEK (KGZ) in the semifinal and then edged Naveen NAVEEN (IND) 4-2 in the final match of 54kg.

The third gold medal of the night went to Uzbekistan as Ikhtiyor NORMURODOV defeated Byambadorj ENKHBAYAR (MGL) in the 63kg final.

The surprise of the Asian Championships came from 69kg where Inayat ULLAH won a silver medal for Pakistan. ULLAH (PAK) beat Iranian Seyedmobin HOSSEINI ZAHEDI 7-6 and Sunduijadamba BOLDBAATAR (MGL) in qualification rounds to storm to the finals. But Meirambek SULEIMENOV (KAZ) downed ULLAH in the finals.

The fantastic final of 76kg had 13 points as Parveen MALIK (IND) beat Meysam ZAREE (IRI) 7-6 in a close match.

The Iranian upperweight wrestlers added to other gold medals to their team.

After winning qualification matches against Kazakhstan and China by 10-0 technical fall, Abbas FOROUTAN had difficult job in the 85kg final, but prevailed 10-8 over Mukhammadrasul RAKHIMOV (UZB).

The last gold medal of the 2017 Cadet Asian Championships was won by Mehdi HASHEMI (IRI). HASHEMI stormed to the final match at100kg with technical falls over Japan and Tajikistan before winning by fall in the semifinals over Bakdaulet OSSERBAY (KAZ). HASHEMI then beat Zyyamuhammet SAPAROV (TKM) 5-1 to secure the fourth gold medal for Iran in freestyle.
