(IranSportsPress, Translation from Mehr News Agency) – Perspolis and Saipa played against each other in Azadi stadium which ended with the defeat of Perspolis, Iran Professional League leader in standings. Arman Rezai (22) and Omid Khaledi scored for Saipa, Ali Alipoor (75) scored for Perspolis.
Perspolis played without the national team players. In the 22nd minute Arman Rezaei scored the first goal for Saipa, where it could have been called offside. While Perspolis had an off-day in the first half and couldn’t find its usual flow and dominance in the game, Omid Khaledi scored the second goal for Saipa.
Perspolis started to play more offensive after Saipa’s goals. Ali Alipoor header hit the post in the 30th minute, but the first half ended with Saipa leading with two goals.
In the second half, Perspolis started more offensive and had many scoring chances, however, the defensive abilities of Saipa denied Perspolis in many occasions. In the 75th minute, Ali Alipoor scored from the penalty spot to reduce the lead by one goal.
In the end of the second half, Perspolis was more offensive and dominated most of the possession. However, Saipa didn’t allow Perspolis to score the second goal which results in delaying Perspolis championship by at least one more week.
